LAS VEGAS TIPS

TIPPING

Las Vegas is a town run by hard-working, often low-paid customer service employees.  These individuals count on the tips they receive.  Please be sure to remember all of the hospitality industry professionals who help to make your stay in Las Vegas an exceptional experience:

Casino & Hotel Employees / Dealers / Change Persons / Cocktail Servers / Bartenders / Food Servers / Sky Caps / Bellmen / Room Service Attendants / Maids / Valet Parkers

Cabbies / Shuttle Bus Drivers

Some examples of appropriate tips are:

  • Cabbies:  15% of the fare
  • Food Servers: 15 – 20% of the bill is standard, however, check your bill, for parties of 7 or more a gratuity may have been tacked on automatically by the restaurant.
  • Valets:  $1 - $3 per car for standard service
  • Room Service:  $3 - $5 depending on the timeframe in which your request was met
  • Bellman:  $1 - $2 per bag
  • Maid: $5 daily tip – tipping daily ensures the tip gets to each person who services the room versus leaving one large tip at the end of the stay, it may not get divided properly.
  • Cocktail Waitress:  $1 per drink per round, the drinks are complimentary while you gamble in a casino.

In most casinos and hotels in Las Vegas, it is appropriate to give casino chips as tips to employees.  As well, you can also write tips directly onto the guest check for room service, for example.

As with any city in the world, exceptional service should be recognized. We have provided a guideline to get you started.
